So there seems to be an issue syncing Google Calendar with the new Blackberry 10 Operating System. It can’t.
That seems to be quite a big issue as I use Google Calendar to manage my calendars, that way it can sync across all my devices. The culprit seems to be with the Operating System is unable to process CalDAV which it supposedly supports. There are people who are blaming this on the operating system and others are blaming it on Google itself. Before Google started using CalDAV, they used Microsoft’s ActiveSync technology to sync contacts, emails and calendar events through one login service. Eventually Google decided to discontinue this support for Active Sync support. They still have the service up and running for their business clients. They just won’t be accepting new request from the consumer side.
However, I was still able to set up ActiveSync to retrieve my email, calendar and contacts for my gmail account. lol So it seems like they are still enabling new connection. It might have something to do when they decide to extend activesync support till June of this year for Windows Phone 8 users. To give Microsoft time to support CalDAV and CardDAV in their phones. Hopefully Blackberry and or Google will figure out that the issue is with BB10 not able to sync between Blackberry and CalDAV.
For people who want to set up their Gmail to retrieve Email, Calendar and Contacts use Microsoft ActiveSync. The address is m.google.com port 443 everything fill as required.
Hope this helps.
